length of realistic 'relief' route: 21.5 km

active walking time: 5 h 57 min. (3.6 km/h)

The fifth stage starts at the Triglavska roža Infocentre in Bled. The trail starts along Ljubljanska cesta towards the lake and then along the Rowing Promenade along the northern shore of the lake (2.2 km) to the Bled Rowing Club. From the lake, the path rises to the Bled jezero railway station and then along Kolodvorska ulica towards Gorje, Krnica and the Pokljuka gorge. Through the Pokljuka gorge, the path rises to Pokljuka and through the forests and pastures of Repečnikov rovt, Kranjska dolina and Planina Javornik leads to the final point of the stage at the Sports Hotel in Goreljek in Pokljuka.

Detailed description:

The fifth stage begins at the Triglavska roža Info Center in Bled (Ljubljanska cesta 27). We continue along the connecting path to the Mercator shopping center and Seliška cesta. We cross the pedestrian crossing and turn back towards Ljubljanska cesta to the roundabout, which we had already walked at the end of stage 4. We pass the abandoned petrol station along Ljubljanska cesta along the sidewalk towards Lake Bled. At the Park Hotel, go down the stairs to the Casino Bled casino and walk along Cesta svobode to the Rowing Promenade and on the path above the northern shore of the lake. After about two kilometers we reach the rowing center in Bled and from there, past the roundabout and the monument to Mihajlo Pupin, we follow the Juliana trail signpost, which leads upwards to the Bled Jezero railway station.
From the railway station, take the tree-lined avenue along Kolodvorska Street to the fork in the street. Follow the signpost to the left street - Za Žago and follow the signpost in the direction of Spodnje Gorje. The streets and the road to Gorje do not have sidewalks, so it is necessary to pay attention to traffic. Razgledna cesta (road) (... which is not scenic ...) under the embankment of the Bohinj railway line leads to the settlement of Spodnje Gorje. Through the settlement and streets without sidewalks, follow the signposts to the signpost towards Višelnica, where a bicycle path is arranged above the right side of the road towards Zgornje Gorje. We walk along the bike path from where there are panoramic views towards Bled. The cycle path ends in Zgornje Gorje and passes into the marked cycle path of the local road and ends at the post office in the settlement. At the crossroads where the monument to the fallen in the First World War stands, we go past the chapel and the church towards Krnica. Through the settlement, the path leads us along a paved sidewalk past Gorjanski dom and the primary school to a larger traffic sign with directions towards Pokljuka, Krma and Mojstrana (16 km) and Zgornja Radovna (12 km). In front of this traffic sign, a narrow path starts to the right from the sidewalk along the road, which can be easily ignored. Follow the path down to the village of Krnica and follow the signpost Juliana trail on the road towards Mostrana. After sixty meters, a cart track leads from the road to the left, which leads us through meadows towards the Pokljuka gorge. In front of the entrance to the Poljuška gorge is the information board of the Triglav National Park. Follow the path through the gorge to the crosspath in the path - left towards the 'Gallery', right towards the 'Hole'. Follow the path to the right and climb through Luknja to the footpath to Pokljuka. At Figovek, the footpath joins the cart track and we carefully follow the Juliana Trail signposts through the vast forests of Pokljuka to Repečnkov rovt, where we are 'greeted' in the spring and summer by curious cattle grazing. More timid hikers have to "wildly" find a way past the pasture. Follow the signposts of the Juliana trail (you can quickly overlook them) and follow the paths and cart tracks of the Pokljuka forests to the Kranjski rovt mountain. The mountain is polished so it is necessary to climb over the wood. The story is repeated with cattle grazing and more fearful, as the cattle are quite curious, they have to break through the valley with "calm nerves" to the wide macadam road that leads to the mountain Zajavornik. Planina Zajavornik is the only part of the stage trail (except from the bike path above the road Spodnje - Zgornje Gorje), which offers panoramic views of the surroundings. From the mountain Zajavornik there is a cart track, which turns into a macadam road to the asphalt road towards the sports center in Rudno polje. When crossing the asphalt road, carefully turn left and after two hundred meters before the crossroads cross the road and follow the signpost towards Šport hoel in Pokljuka - Goreljek in Pokljuka, which is the last point of the fifth stage.
