slovensko Tree line

The tree line is the edge of the habitat at which trees are capable of growing. Beyond the tree line, trees cannot tolerate the environmental conditions like too low temperatures.
The tree line in Slovenia is between 1600 to 1800 m of elevation.

Larix decidua, common name European larch, is a species of larch native to the mountains of Central Europe, in the Alps and Carpathian Mountains, with disjunctive lowland populations in northern Poland and southern Lithuania.
Larch tree is very cold tolerant, able to survive winter temperatures down to at least -50°C, and is among the tree line trees in the Alps, reaching 2000 m altitude, though most abundant from 1000–2000 m. It only grows on well-drained soils, avoiding waterlogged ground.

Pinus mugo or mountain pine, also dwarf mountain pine is a species of conifer, native to high elevation habitats from southwestern to Central Europe. Regarding the local climate it is usually found on the elevation from 1000 – 2200 m.
