Kingdom of Sweden
Konungariket Sverige (Swedish)
Sweden is a Nordic country located on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe. It borders Norway to the west, Finland to the northeast, and is connected to Denmark by the Öresund Bridge in the southwest. To the east, it is washed by the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Bothnia. It is the largest country in Northern Europe, characterized by vast forests (covering more than 60% of the territory), thousands of islands and lakes, and a long coastline.
Most of the population lives in the southern part of the country, where major urban centers are located, including the capital city, Stockholm. The northern part of the country, which includes Swedish Lapland (Norrland), extends across the Arctic Circle, has a mountainous terrain, and is sparsely populated. The highest point in the country is the peak of Kebnekaise (2,097 m) in the northwest.
